Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should still be slightly lumpy.
4. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Grease with butter or oil.
5. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop the batter onto the pan.
6. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges start to dry.
7. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.
8. Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, butter, fruit, or whipped cream.
